The design strategy for this home was inspired by the unique site constraints, particularly the smaller frontage of the house. To counterbalance this, light colours have been used throughout to highlight the architectural features, giving the house an airy, spacious feel. Stone cladding and high-pressure lamination sheets have been incorporated to emphasize specific design elements, adding a modern, sleek look to the exterior.
Three distinctive roof designs—curve, slope, and flat—were carefully chosen to give the house its unique visual appeal. The stair room features a curved design with an inbuilt water tank, cleverly hiding the tank while contributing to the house’s overall architectural harmony. To maximize natural light, three-shutter windows have been incorporated into most areas, ensuring a bright and open feel throughout the home.
One of the standout features of this project is the use of vertical pergolas in the common areas, which enhance the aesthetic while providing functional shading. The glass handrails in the balcony areas further enhance the feeling of openness, allowing for uninterrupted views of the surroundings. In some areas, fin-walls were strategically used to conceal rainwater pipes, maintaining the clean lines of the design. To bring in a natural feel, planter boxes have been thoughtfully placed in various sections of the house.
